Origin – Pacific Northwest Tribes Mythology

Background – Sisiutl, the Great Sea Serpent is one of the most powerful totem spirits of the Pacific Northwest Tribes, second only to the Thunderbird. Sisiutl takes on the role of the God of War. Warriors often wear head bands or belts with Sisiutl symbols for protection. Female Warriors attempt to invoke its spirit in ritual dance. Sisiutl is said to defend the houses of supernatural beings, like the House of the Sky People and The House of Dzunuka.
